After office-type bleaching, the patient's tooth becomes a few tons whiter than normal.
How is office type whitening done?

After deciding the bleaching process, the patient's teeth are cleaned and polished first. The start color is recorded with photos and color scales. To protect the patient's cheeks a retractor is inserted into the patient's mouth. In order to protect the gums, 3-5 mm thick light curing barrier is applied to the area where the teeth and gums meet. The active whitening gel is then applied to the teeth. Generally, the chemical applied in 15-20 minutes is renewed or mixed and re-irradiated. This process is repeated 2-3 times. After these processes are finished, the chemical color on the teeth is checked with the help of the aspirator and the color of the teeth is checked. The whitening effect will continue until 24 hours. Therefore, it is necessary to wait 1 day to see the actual effect. For a good and lasting effect, office whitening can be supplemented with household whitening.
How long does office type bleaching last?

This app takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Some people may need to have more than one session.
What is home bleaching?

It is the process of bleaching the tooth color by applying at home in certain periods with the help of bleaching plate and gels. Your dentist will make the decision regarding the type of the bleaching.
How is home bleaching done?

Impression of the teeth are taken at the first session. According to this impression, special tray which is personalized, fully compatible with your teeth and gingiva is prepared. Your doctor will give you whitening gels to apply at home with this tray. You should not use products that you buy from markets or from outside. After giving your doctor the necessary information about the application at home, you can make your application at home. Starting from 2-3 hours at first, this time is extended to 7-8 hours depending on sensitivity. Apply 2 to 8 hours of household bleaching daily for 2-3 weeks to achieve the desired result.
Is there a difference between office type and home type bleaching?

In fact, there is not a big difference in whitening between home-type bleaching and an office-type bleaching system. The difference in the application times is preferable, but when both methods are applied in combination, maximum whitening can be achieved. For this reason, the patient should decide which method he/she wants to do the teeth bleaching.
Does teeth bleaching make sensitivity?

The whitening gel used in tooth whitening has no known side effects. Temporary cold or hot sensitivity can be observed in some cases.
Can teeth bleaching be performed on sensitive teeth?

In this case, before the whitening, the cause of the sensitivity to be detected and eliminated during first procedure. Whitening can be started after sensitivity complaints are ceased.
Does the bleaching process have an effect on fillers and dentures?

The gel used in tooth whitening has no positive or negative effect on the filling or dentures present in the mouth. Whitening gel only affects the tooth enamel, and the filler and coating in the mouth is not whitening.
What should be considered after tooth bleaching?

After the bleaching, a little cold and heat sensitivity can be seen. On the first day, the patient may be advised to use analgesic (painkiller) for comfort. There is a diet list to pay attention, especially the first 3 days is very important, but ideaaly 7-10 days are important. Any color food or drink is prohibited. What are the situations in which bleaching cannot be applied?

Can teeth bleaching be done during pregnancy?

Although there is no reported case of bleaching treatment during pregnancy, it would be more appropriate to apply the treatment according to the general principle of avoiding the use of medication in pregnancy.

Is there an age limit for tooth bleaching?

Bleaching treatment is not suitable for individuals younger than 16 years of age and there is no upper age limit.
Is it necessary to repeat the tooth bleaching process later?

Recycling times of the teeth whitening process may vary. Because it is a cosmetic treatment, these processes can be repeated if they think that the color of the teeth has begun to change. Repetition frequency should not be shorter than 3-4 months.
Bleaching of canal-treated teeth (Endo Bleaching)
